I've held this image - taken of our teenager on a recent backpacking trip - close to my heart this week, trying to maintain the same sense of serenity.
Long story, short: PranaVis Medicine is moving!
Long story, long, because it really is worth sharing.
Many of you know that back in April and May, I became the only practitioner left in the Saravida building. And though my personal office continued to work beautifully for me, it became obvious that the space felt lonely. Worse yet, more than once I sat bolt upright in the middle of the night, anxious that I was going to need to move on short notice, with nowhere to go. For a practitioner who tries to practice what I preach, losing sleep is a big signal.
"Ah," I thought, "Get out ahead of this. Just look, there's no harm in looking." I dipped my toes in the water by scanning online. Yuck. There's a lot of bad office space out there.
A friend advised me to drive around town, to the neighborhoods I love and frequent. Sure, I jotted down a few phone numbers, but honestly, didn't make the calls. Nothing truly spoke to me. Until one morning. Last Thursday, to be exact. I drove my favorite walking route around Wright Park and passed a sweet old blue house.
"This is it."
I instantly picked up my phone and dialed the number. The owner called me back in 5 minutes.
We met a couple of hours later and I toured the inside.

(Then I made a ton of sauerkraut and went backpacking! At times like these, grounding, calm, and time in nature are key.)
Welcome to the new PranaVis Medicine - 309 South G Street, Suite 4 - literally across the street from the WW Seymour Botanical Conservatory in Wright Park.
It's such a beautiful office. Those walking appointments I've always wanted to have?! Get ready! And you can count on yoga in the park.
The space is much larger than I need as a solo practitioner and I am looking for holistic minded office mates (please send them my way if you know of anyone looking for a beautiful space with high ceilings and big windows!), but the simple truth is that a collective and collaborative office has always been part of my vision. Did I think it would be me offering it so soon? No. I thought it was two or three years out, but when synchronicity clicks into place, you sign the two year lease. (Update! One office is now filled! One more is available.)
I will be taking the next two weeks to move in, but moved out of Saravida yesterday - did I mention that all of this happened right before June 1?! Much gratitude to Sara and Danny Roberge, for doing such a beautiful job on that grand old building and making it possible for me to get PranaVis Medicine off the ground. Thank you to those who graciously agreed to reschedule appointments and know I am available via Skype and phone - even housecalls are an option. I will be taking this time to reboot and hone different aspects of the practice, confident that this is not only the right step, it's the step that was meant to be.
More to follow!
